The tallest mountain peak in North America is Denali (Mount McKinley). It is located in Alaska and reaches a height of 20,308 feet. That is less than 9,000 feet shorter than Mount Everest.

The Lowest point in North America is Badwater Basin, which is located in Death Valley. It reaches an amazing elevation of -282 feet below sea level.

The coldest place in North America is a remote settlement in Canada's Yukon Territory called Snag. It dropped to an icing temperature of -81.4 Fahrenheit.

The hottest place in North America is a place located in Death Valley, California called Furnace Creek. It reached an amazingly hi temperature of 134 Fahrenheit.

The Great Barrier Reef is around 1600 miles in length. It protects the Eastern side of Australia from tsunamis that threaten the coast. It is so large that it can be easily see from space and gives the ocean water a light blue color.

The Great Wall of China is over 13,000 miles long and can be viewed from space. It is assumed to have taken around 20 years to complete the original par of the wall and another 200 to build the rest.

The Roman Senate was comprised of 900 members. When the Emperor, Augustus, came to power, he changed it to 600. Although there were 600 members, only 100 to 200 were active at once.

Electricity clocks in at a speed of 186,000 miles per second. That is just a little less than the speed of light. Although it can almost travel at the speed of light, when traveling through wires it only reaches 1/100th of the speed of light.
